I had a pile of oldy dvd’s racked up to watch and as usual i judged the book by the cover, 3 words “what a twat” after leaving this one till last i am even more convinced the cover doesn’t mean shite.
Hustle and flow a drama to start but hey I will give anything a go, at first i thought what a load of bollocks, but as open minded as i am, I thought to myself give it the chance it deserves; anyway i did and it was the best thing i did that week, it starts out a bit slow but works its way up to a story, thank baby jebus.
anyways, a classic 2005 flick about a chap who busts bugger all and his biartches do all the work (you got it he’s a PIMP) working his women and reaping a penny a handjob, not a career choice to take you too far, but for this character it pays 90% of the bills so he sticks with it, yadda yadda yadda so onward this chap decides he wants to make music in this case RAP.
yeah not my first choice but good, there is a story on every street, but the storyline unfolds and much like a persuit of happiness story, this chap busts for the first time his head, brains and every other asset he has to make a hit, it goes off; after all the hardships and pain steaking agony of no budget, no props and bugger all of anything it makes for a good story, however the ending is not the fairytale we would all expect, give it a wurl this was a good film a bit slow but well worth the watch.
Get into it.

13 Dec 08 The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Well I have to say, I have had some interest in Jesse James for some time and tried as beest as possible to draw the good from the bad, but i have to say this was good from afar, but far from good. Like i always do; i gave this one the glory of seeing it through to the end, but was definately mind fucked right the way through.
I was somewhat drawn to the characters they were fairly straight up the storyline was something to be said for, not all of what i saw in this film i have belief in, but who the bugger really knows the truth aye.
I mean lets be honest Brad Pitt as Jesse, wouldnt have been my first choice, Jesse was not a farkin pretty boy, that is very clear. but hey he did do an ok job.
Well this should be one for the boredom of a sunday avo if you have a few hours to spare and nothing better to watch, but it is pretty interesting, dont follow the facts this version is just a fairytale on screeen.

Another baffling; Samuel L Jackson piece. Scored this DVD for $5.00 at the warehouse, (had no cover)
and I am as happy as a hippopotamus in a bathtub, cos i wouldn’t have paid a cent more to see this flick.
Look, this was a good time killer, and the spoon fed humor and storyline were to say the least, a bit of a drag, there was a bit of drama to remind you that days of our lives, really is for bored housewives.
I couldn’t wait to get to the end of this snoozer, i even paused it half way through to drop the jackson’s off at the pool, michael made a splash, which was about as excited as i got during this movie.
I am open to dabate on this one, there was no twist of lemon, nor was there one instance where i even considered having a laugh, as much as i respect Samuel L Jackson, this for me was a complete flop, bet the box office was handing out reach arounds just to get people through the door. oh well at least i gave this one a chance, i usually do, but the best thing about this movie was taking a pooh.

When a little miss goody two shoes “ANNE HATHAWAY” wants to get ahead in life as a journalists she applies for a job working for one of New Yorks most prestigious fashion mags Runway, not having a clue about fashion herself and being completely self indulged in just being a goody two shoes. which scientifically proves that she has no driving skills.
While faced with the wrath of MERYL STREEP, “the devil herself”, gets involved in what it actualy takes to be a good journalist/kitchen bitch, at first doing basically anything to impress the she beast from getting coffee and running around like little red riding hood, just after the wolf has eaten her grandmother out.
Only to end up in the little miss goody two shoes crown, and pulling off an almost impossible series of tasks to make her look good, even under the pressure of the she biartch. wah wah wah, it goes on…. and on.
But besides this movie being a bit on the chick side, i found the storyline somewhat captivating, for all the crap i will give this film, it was actually pretty good, a bit of everything for the girls, fuck all for the boys… but toasted sandwiches, but in my opinion this wasn’t a complete flop, if i had to couch out with the lady, to watch a dvd and choose between knotting hill and this… the devil wears prada would be a winner outright,
